Disc Skimmer

Made in the UK

Product No: 0443/MS

Disc Skimmer systems can be used in almost all inland and shoreline areas for the removal of oil from water.

They work by a series of oleophilic discs that rotate through the oil and water mix. The oil adheres to the surface of the discs as they rotate through the oil and water mix, drawing the oil into the skimmer.

The oil is then removed from the discs by scrapers mounted on both sides of each disc. The oil is collected in a reservoir ready for removal.

The oleophilic disc design ensures that the free water pick-up when separating light oils is very low and the positive displacement pump ensures that even heavy hydrocarbons can be recovered effectively.

The system will operate in most environments, including very shallow waters, and will recover in excess of 98% oil.
